Four awards for the Forsyth Academy Performance Learning Center (PLC)!!!

We are pleased to announce that The Forsyth Academy Performance Learning Center (PLC) recently received four awards (two state-level and two national) from Communities In Schools (CIS), the nation’s leading community-based organization helping kids succeed in school and prepare for life.

The Forsyth Academy, FCS' charter non-traditional high school and a Communities In Schools Performance Learning Center, received both the state and national-level awards for Highest Number of Graduates and Highest Percentage of Graduates. Last year, The Forsyth Academy had a total of 84 graduates and a graduation percentage of 89.6.

"These are considered the top awards for a Performance Learning Center, so we are thrilled to have received them," said Forsyth Academy Principal Brad Smith.

The mission of Communities In Schools is to champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. There are 29 Communities In Schools Performance Learning Centers in Georgia and 40 across the nation. Georgia PLCs receive initial funding as a result of a grant received by Communities In Schools of Georgia from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
