The 151st Georgia State Fair Another great Georgia State Fair, the 151st, closed yesterday and I hope you did not miss it, thousands attended and had a fun time with their family and friends! OurTown2Day.com/maconga was pleased to be there to support the efforts of The Exchange Club and their charities! Congratulations to Jimmy Hartley, Rollin Middlebrooks, Stephanie McKleroy, Staff and volunteers from the The Exchange Club for an outstanding job of brining this annual event to Macon and the State of Georgia! During the Fair week, OurTown2day.com/maconga had a booth area on the main walk way where we were able to get the word out to the public by handing out flyers and great daily drawings for prizes donated by our sponsors! Everyday, we let hundreds of people know that there is a local source for GOOD NEWS about the Macon and surrounding area. A huge help on getting the word out was by our good friend Terry Harvin and his local show "THE FAN" on 105.5FM ESPN radio! Terry put our name out almost everyday by mentioning our booth, drawing sponsors and prizes, Terry even called me for a live report from the Fair! We were met with various words of praise for our website efforts by the fair goers and a single phrase covers them all, "THANKS, it is about time to get some Good News about Macon!" I want to thank McDonald's Restraurants for donating hundreds of coupons for free food items which are good at all 9 locations in Macon and Gray! The new Macon Music Baseball Club donated logo baseballs, decals and brochures which made several young folks very happy! Special thanks to June O'Neal, Director of The Mentors Group, for a great DELL Computer backpack given away on Sunday! Macon is ready for our Good News information website and our charities, non-profits and business sponsors are working together to make www.ourtown2day.com/maconga a success for the Macon, Bibb, Monroe and Jones County area!
